As part of keeping the governments on its toes by the opposition party New Patriotic Party (NPP), leaders of the party decided to organize a protest march which took place on the 18th of February last Wednesday. “W)N GBO” demonstration to mean “we are dying”.
This demonstration took place on the streets of Accra starting from the Obra spot passing through the MTTU streets, UTC down to the Nkrumah Museum then to the Hearts of Oak Park. Party leaders such as Nana Akuffo Addo, Kennedy Agyapong, Allan Kyeremanteng among others led the demonstration.
The demo which was aimed to force government to sit up in order to solve the challenges in the country such as the power crisis literally called DUMSOR, economic hardships, unemployment.
While the W)N GBO demo brought together party members, NGOs, women organizations beautifully dressed in their customized protests attires with inscriptions DUMSOR, W)N GBO, DROP THAT ROTTEN YAM CALLED MAHAMA, others were also seen in their ‘black black’ and red clothes with their writings “we are dying, resign Mahama, kwasia ni nti (because of a foolish man), drop that yam, stop corruptions’ on their placards. Well, this was also a time for hawkers to make money selling the party products.
